Boost Your Day in the Oresund Region

There is a lot going on in the Malmoe region and all aren’t bad, or is it? In fall 2012 will the new shopping center Emporia be done and open up in Hyllie/Malmoe. The shopping center will have up to 220 stores and restaurants and will cost about 3,5 billion Swedish kroner to get done. My thoughts are, does Malmoe need this are there not other things worth spending that much money on? In 2008 the latest shopping center Entré opened up in Malmoe, and today it has shown that Entré has not been that as popular or profitable as it was predicted to be at first.

Why does Malmoe need another shopping centre, aren’t the shopping centers that exists in the city enough? Maybe there will be a more diverse selection of stores than before and stores that have never existed in Malmoe or in Sweden ever before will now be easy to reach. I know for sure that I will visit the new Emporia and probably many times over and over again, however this means that I will not visit the other shopping centers in Malmoe, and Entre that already is going poorly wont it go even worse then?

The question remains; does Malmoe really need another shopping center? What is your opinion in this matter, do you think that Malmoe needs another shopping centre, or is the existing ones already too many?

Behöver Malmö verkligen ytterligare ett shopping center?

Det händer mycket i Malmö regionen idag och allt är inte dåligt, eller? Till hösten 2012 kommer det nya shopping centret Emporia att stå färdigt i stadsdelen Hyllie. Emporia kommer att ha upp till 220 affärer och restauranger och kommer kosta cirka 3,5 miljarder svenska kronor att konstruera. Det går att diskutera om det verkligen behövs ytterligare ett shopping centrum och efter det att Entré öppnade 2008 för att inte allt för långt efter floppa, så är frågan om det verkligen är ett nytt shopping center som behövs till Malmö stad?

Varför skulle Malmö behöva ytterligare ett shopping center, räcker det inte med alla de som redan existerar i staden? Visst, där kommer att finnas ett betydligt bredare sortiment av affärer och restauranger som inte redan finns i Malmö, eller i Sverige för den delen, men räcker detta argument? Jag vet att jag kommer att stå där och stampa dagen då Emporia öppnar och jag kommer säkerligen att besöka Emporia många gånger om, till nackdel för alla andra köpcenter i Malmö, vad kommer hända med dem?

Frågan återstår; behöver Malmö verkligen ytterligare ett shopping center? Vad är din åsikt i denna fråga, tycker du att Malmö behöver ytterligare ett shopping center, eller räcker det med de som redan existerar i Malmö?
